Spring 2010 is the next big excitement date for Harry Potter fans, as Universal Orlando Resort opens their new attraction, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, based on the books by J.K. Rowlings.
Universal Studios Orlando announced today that the much-anticipated themed land at the Islands of Adventure theme park will open in spring 2010.
"Universal has given me the great honor in revealing to the world that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be opening its gates, spring 2010," said actor Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Potter films and was in Orlando for the announcement.
The presentation included a video introduction from Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson who all expressed their excitement about the park. Tom Felton was live at the event speaking with the creators.
That leaves the attractions. Woodbury confirmed that there would be three: Dragon Challenge Flight of the Hippogriff, a family coaster set amid a Care of Magical Creatures class led by Hagridthis is rumored to be the Flying Unicorn coaster, rethemed and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, the centerpiece new attraction located within Hogwarts Castle.
