Directed by Phillip Noyce, the thriller stars Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian sleeper spy who is out to prove her innocence.
Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is a CIA officer who swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. When she is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy, Salt goes on the run to clear her name and ultimately prove she is a patriot. Using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative, she must elude capture and protect her husband or the world's most powerful forces will erase any trace of her existence.
Critics wondered if the sexy actress and wife of Brad Pitt could regain her lithe figure in such a short amount of time after giving birth.The trailer puts those doubts to rest, featuring a scene of Jolie in her underwear that clearly displays her taut stomach.
Initially, the lead role in "Salt" was given to Tom Cruise, but was later rewritten for Jolie when Cruise dropped out.
