At Friday evening, Space shuttle Discovery returned safely to Earth, Landing in California after being diverting due to rain over Florida.
Shuttle commander Rick Sturckow led Discovery to land at Edwards Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert at 8:53 pm EDT, after spending two days, ranging from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida because of rain and strong wind near the shuttle landing facility on Thursday and Friday.
Sturckow said after landing "Hiuston, Discovery, Wheels stops". Mission Control replied,” Welcome home Discovery" and also added "Congratulations on an extremely successful mission stepping up science to a new level on the International Space Station."
Landing completed a 14-day mission to the International Space Station, which supplies equipment to the new science and the treadmill Colbert - the name of television comedian Stephen. The refueling mission ended the day after the second freighter launched from Japan.
