SONAM Kapoor (born June 9, 1985), daughter of Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, niece of producer Boney Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor and Sandeep Marwah. She is the eldest of three children, and the other two are Rhea and brother Harshvardhan.

Sonam Kapoor studied at Arya Vidya Mandir and then enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia to do her International Baccalaureate. She later graduated from the University of Mumbai with Political Science and Economics as her majors. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. She has received training in classical and Latin dance forms.

Sonam Kapoor started her carrier in Bollywood by working with Bollywood most acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She first assisted the director in the movie 'Black' and bagged herself a role in his most anticipated movie of the year 'Saawariya'.
