Mike Andrew Fisher, 5th June 1980, is a center of Canadian professional ice hockey and a captain for the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League (NHL). He is known for his cruelty and two ways to play, to be nominated for the Selke Trophy in 2006. At the beginning of the 2009-10 season in the NHL, was appointed captain for the Senators.
Since Fisher's career was his debut with the Senators in 1999-2000 and recorded 9 points in 32 limited game rookie season. He was known for his aggressive style of play, and also began to show his penchant for offensive production improved to 18 goals and 38 points in his fourth season in 2002-03.
During the year end of 2004-05, Fisher played abroad for EV Zug in Switzerland A. National League as an NHL game resumed the next season in 2005-06, Fisher came with 22 goals and 44 points, giving valuable secondary scoring for Spezza Heatley-Alfredsson line. He helped the Senators to a first seed in the Eastern Conference entering the playoffs, but were defeated by the fourth-seeded division rivals Buffalo Sabers in five games in the second round. With a career highest score, less than 23 in the regular season, Fisher was nominated for the Frank J. Selke trophy as best defensive forward. He finished as runner-Jere Lehtinen, Dallas Stars and trophy winner Rod Brind'Amour, Captain Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes.
Six weeks into the 2008-09 season, Fisher suffered the second knee injury, strain a ligament in right knee against the Islanders in New York on 17th November 2008.
In his personal life Fisher was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario, to parents Jim and Karen and is a devout Christian. His brother Gregorio "Bud" Fisher is a goalkeeper who played for Quinnipiac University in the ECAC. On 23 October 2009, replacing senators from goalie Pascal Leclaire in nets during a practice Senators, Leclaire after he became ill.
In the offseason, using Fisher started with hockey camps in his hometown in Peterborough and Kingston, through Hockey Ministries International.Fisher has also been a guest instructor at the Roger Neilson Hockey Camp.
Fisher has been dating country music star and Grammy Award and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood. Fisher and Underwood met after a concert Underwood in October 2008 held in Toronto.
