The last Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan founded the Osmania University. Osmania University is the seventh oldest institution of higher education in India, the third oldest in south India, and the first to be created in the former Princely State of Hyderabad. The whole operation of almost nine decades, Osmania University has shown remarkable growth and sustained progress embodied in all faculties. He has made commendable contributions to academic improvement, social and economic development of the region not only that, but the nation as a whole. Facilities

Accommodation offered by Osmania University for student exits from the station. Currently there are 14 hostels in the campus. Engineering student is assigned a near hostel accommodation separately to the Faculty of Engineering. Two shelters have been for girls. Health Center has been established to provide free medical care to students, staff and their families. The university also houses a post office and a branch of the State Bank of Hyderabad.

History

Osmania University was founded in 1918 by the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad State, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan. It is the third oldest in southern India, first established in the former Princely State of Hyderabad and the seventh oldest institution of higher education in India. Since its inception, the University has contributed to the professional, social and economic development in the region and nation.

Osmania University has always attracted students not only from India but also worldwide. Which offers one of the best MBA programs and are among the most difficult to pass. It is estimated that of the 10,000 applicants, only 60 are able to do it! The University is also attractive engineering courses, art, science, humanities, information technology, commerce and business, among other courses, such as Eastern languages. Department of Geography and Geomatics is one of the best colleges of India. Equipped with the latest technology at the laboratories and keep students updated with the latest know-how. Osmania University had received five stars by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) of University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India.
